The beginning of Candy Box 2 is as minimal as can be. The mix of genres keeps you on your toes: you’ll need brainpower and fast reactions to have a ghost of a chance of winning. Only things aren’t that simple, because your every move is being mirrored by a phantom twin.įortunately, said twin isn’t evil nor out to get you – it helps you escape enemies and grab out-of-reach gems, by way of limited swaps you can perform. You dart about single-screen set-ups featuring platforms and ladders, avoiding enemies and scooping up gems. ![]() Not to be confused with the other – and much older – Alter Ego game you probably just read about, this Alter Ego is a platform puzzler. It’s as far from The Sims as you can imagine, too – instead of cute little idiots blundering about, you get stark icons and multiple-choice text.īut there’s depth, with a clever (if admittedly slightly conservative) script written by a psychologist, which offers branching progress that could lead you to a happy old age or abruptly dying as a toddler, having necked some bleach found under the sink. This browser-based remake of an ancient PC game deals with progress through everyday life. It’ll also wallop your ego should you arrogantly think you can keep going indefinitely.Īlter Ego isn’t pretty – visually or in terms of content. It’s like the concept behind Flappy Bird was caught in the TARDIS’s wake and hurled back to 1972, right into Atari’s lap. Over time, the bats shrink and the game speeds up. Space (or tap) makes the minimalist protagonist jump a bit. And rather than controlling the bat, you control the ball. Instead of two players, there’s you alone. Well, this game is, as its moniker suggests, ‘almost’ Pong. Endless frustration when both players realised how inept they were at returning said ball. Fortunately, you can save progress in your browser and continue at a later date. Logistics and supply management are as important as surviving animal attacks, and the adventure can be long and gruelling. It’s a text- and menu-driven adventure in which you build up and maintain a successful community in a harsh wilderness. Coming from the same developer as Gridland (also in this list) and supplying a similar ‘thrive ‘n’ survive’ challenge, A Dark Room nevertheless takes a very different tack. ![]()

![]() The reason why I chose Shed Shell as an item is because Magnezone is still a large and when it's out. Sorry Pikachu, but your spotlight is in another gym! I prefer using the Sword/Shield EV spread because I prefer it to handle special attacks better as well. Not to mention the Ground-type Tera type giving it Electric-type immunity. Psychic is there to deal with the likes of Toxapex, Glimmora and Clodsire which the Tera type gives a bonus to. With it, Bug Buzz is the main move for all-out sweeps. Its' signature move, Fiery Dance is the most considerable move as it makes it more of a threat after a Sp.Atk increase, especially when KO'ing an opponent. Poor thing's double weak to Rock so it's a good thing the held item was made specifically for it. ![]() Heavy-Duty Boots is also a must for this fella as Stealth Rock is a real bully to it. This Pokemon has the same strategy as Dragonite, Wait until late-game for others to wear opponents down and strike at the last moment. It's so good back then and it's so good even now. As soon as I saw a wild Larvesta, I KNEW I must have Volcarona in a team. This Pokemon tells us to never underestimate a bug. In Pokemon Black & White, this was the Bug-type that stunned us all. I've chosen a physical powerhouse, so why not choose a special powerhouse who is also a classic to competitive play, Volcarona. Hey, the Pokemon may not be a meta breaker, but it's still an awesome Pokemon and a big fav to many Trainers. Weaviles, Choice Scarf Garchomps, Levitate Bronzongs and Avaluggs are a sign to switch to something else. I know what Dragonite's strengths and weaknesses are and Ice Shard and those who out speed it when it's at +1 are some of them. Lastly, Earthquake is also a must to give it more type coverage against many Steel-types that don't have Ground-type immunity or Air Balloon. It's a move they'd least expect and it's something that'll happen in most cases. By transforming into a Poison-type, it catches the likes of Azumarill and Gardevoir off-guard by unleashing a Tera Blast. They're a Kryptonite to all dragons.BUT! That's where the Tera Type comes in. Heavy-Duty Boots are mandatory for it to safely set up a Dragon Dance thanks to the Multiscale ability.ĭragon Claw is better than Outrage (even though the name still sounds cool) because I don't want my friend to be locked against Fairy-types. ![]() That's what a sweeper does, doesn't it? The main strategy on using Dragonite is to keep it in waiting while the rest of the team members wear opponents down with their attacks and Stealth Rock, giving it the green light to mercilessly finish them off. Surely there must be some firmware/driver collision with the game, but since the 360 controller and Windows 10 are both up to date and using the 360 should be supported acccording to other forum posts by Larian*, it's impossible for us to tell where the errors happens.Every time you are hit with a melee attack while wielding a shield, you perform a counterattack. However, That does not match up to the triggers in Divinity Original Sin 2 seeming to still cancel each other out. However, the Xbox One controller is supposed to have two different axis/values here, what with the z-axis and z-axis-rotation (?). That is, they block each other, so to speak. Our understanding from doing a bit of research says that the 360 has a trigger layout which goes from 0-100 where the normal value is 50 and using either trigger will make it swing either way. It just felt like either a driver or a patch messed something up on the controllers, as all the other buttons works as intended but not the triggers, but after troubleshooting for close to 6 hours of total time (yes we also do other things) we still actually don't know what the issue is, but it looks like the triggers are working as one trigger. I personally have not had a problem with the game before this and really like it and the story (what I've seen of the story) so far, but it is getting to a point where we are playing it more to show that we can, than to enjoy it. so far we have not been able to give each other items either so that is also on the keyboard when we are leveling up. but inventory management and equipping equipment is a pain, as we have to put it in the hotbar and then equip it from there (and seeing if it is equipped is very hard as there is no charecter info screen for us). we have just decided to save, go to main menu, switch to keyboard and then level up from there. we still can't open the inventory screen with the controllers I.E. Update: the xbox360 controller emulator is working as a charm. We're gonna try using a 360 emulator, to see if that does the trick and unmesses (censored btw) the control scheme. We don't know exactly how steam handles controller drivers, especially for ps4 since they're a bit off the map on PC, but we assume it makes use of installed xbox controller drivers and that's what carries the fault over to the ps4 controller. Some research into the matter tells of Xbox One drivers combined with Windows 10 updates messed up the Z-axis controls, despite the fact that we're using a 360 and a ps4 controller (we even tried two ps4 controllers). This also prevents us from leveling up, which is kind of a huge deal breaker, lol. ![]() Seeing as we're playing Lone Wolves, we don't get a lot of use out of that function.
